Hey, everyone! Been a loooong time! I haven’t updated y’all since the holidays but now the school year is winding down and I’m ramping up the projects I’ve been working on in the background — starting with: CHOPPIN’ BLADES #1! The pre-launch is now live and we look to launch this May! Click here to follow the campaign!

A few months ago I announced CHOPPIN’ BLADES (if you missed it you can click here to check out the post). I described this project at Twisted Metal with Magic and let you know the influences that went into it: Southern Hip-Hop music from the early 2000s. You’ll see a lot of that in this book but, more importantly, you’ll meet human characters in a story with heart, humor, and of course, action. I can’t wait for you to meet Ryan, Jojo, Eloisa, Trell, and Barr.

The creative team is myself as writer, Marco Mercuri on art, Antonio Ramos Wong on colors, Reed Hinckley-Barnes on letters, and big homie Devin Arscott as our editor. I’ve also enlisted the talents of my Katabasis partner, Rodrigo Rocha (Katabasis, Bloodshot), on the cover as well as Jacoby Salcedo (It’s Only Teenage Wasteland, This Land Is Our Land - A Blue Beetle Story)! I’m incredibly lucky to have these talented creators be a part of this story and am ecstatic with the work they put out.

Set on a modern Earth where magical demolition derbies are a top mainstream and underground sport, a young, talented derby driver hits the highways of Neo Houston teeming with dangerous, mythical creatures and other relentless drivers to steal a relic that could save his father's life.

*Slaps roof of car* This baby here has magical car fights, swords, cars with big rims and candy paint, sorcerers, revenge and monsters!

Another important note is that this book is just about finished! All the pages are drawn and we just need 3 more pages colored and lettered! So this book is happening regardless!
